Welcome to the Rules &
Etiquette portion of the
website. Read them and know them for there shall be a
test... Just kidding, but in order to become a
productive of the AWA you must learn and adhere to any and
all regulations put forth by the AWA Board of Directors and
other mysterious forces that inhabit the AWA headquarters in
Pittsburgh. But enough of my yakking...let's boogie!
-
What Is The AWA?
From its humble beginnings as Steel City Wrestling to it's
recent incarnation as the Championship Wrestling Network, the
AWA was the dream of one man; Stu Anderson. His
dream was to build the greatest "wrasslin" organization
since the hay day of the NWA. Unfortunately, Stu
never lived to see his dream succeed. However, his
brother, Josh Anderson, vowed to never let his brother's
dream die.
Securing the needed funds, Josh purchased the former
Accolade Theater in the downtown Pittsburgh. After a
little paint and spackle, the Accolade Theater became the
Anderson Tabernacle; in memory of Stuart Anderson.
With a stable location secured for television tapings,
Josh contacted local UPN affiliate channel 19.
With a location and television deal under contract,
Anderson decided the time had come to re-open the American
Wrestling Alliance.
- Can Anybody Be a AWA Superstar?
Here at the AWA, we are quite picky about who can become
an official AWA superstar. First, we do not accept
real wrestlers (i.e. Steve Austin of the Rock) nor do we
accept those wrestlers who are merely carbon copies of
such wrestlers. We seek only those characters that
are unique and well thought-out.
If you think you have what it takes to be a AWA superstar,
simply fill out an application on our boards
HERE. It may
take 4-6 working days to receive an answer. Once
approved, register on the boards and post your first RP at
your leisure. You will not be given a match until
you have posted at least 1 quality roleplay. This
will help the staff gauge your abilities and match you
with someone of your caliber.
- How Are Roleplays Judged In The
AWA?
Here at the AWA the roleplays of our members will be
judged on two points, QUALITY and QUANTITY. Although
we have no set limit on minimum and maximum length of
roleplays, we do prefer that each roleplay consist of more
than 10 lines of dialogue and a definite introduction and
conclusion.
Another rule we follow here at the AWA is a 3 roleplay
limit for Surge shows. Since Surge takes place every 7 days, we
feel that 3 roleplays per show is plenty to exhibit any
handler's skills. These 3 roleplays can be directly
aimed at your opponent or simply for character
development. However, Xplosion follows a different
format. Since it takes place every 15 days, there is
a 6 roleplay cap in affect. Pay-Per-Views have no
cap on roleplays as they only occur every two months.
Feuds can build and die before a PPV even occurs, thus
placing a limit on PPV roleplays only hurts the handlers.
Creativity is job number one here at
the AWA and character development is a must.
- What is the Difference Between
Surge,
Xplosion, and Pay-Per-Views?
Here at the AWA we run on a 7 day rotation, wherein Surge will appear every
7 days on TV. 4 Days
will be devoted towards roleplays and 3 towards the
writing of shows.
Xplosion is the a special show that runs on a 15 day
rotation in will feature most of the roster in various
situations, and brought to the public free of charge.
We here at the AWA want our members to feel like they're
constantly involved in storylines and Xplosion solves
this.
Pay-Per-Views run on a alternating schedule, and will not
be seen each month, but rather every two months or so.
These are usually held in the large venues and and can be
purchased for viewing via your local cable provider.
- How Many Titles Does the
AWA Have?
Currently the AWA have two major singles titles; the AWA
World Heavyweight Championship and the AWA Evolution X Television
Championship, otherwise known as the X Championship. We also feature a tag
team title, the AWA World Tag Team Championship.
These are various other "titles" to be obtained throughout
the year, but those will be left in their own cloud of
mystery.
